The reasons may be vary from user to user. for example, i have been banned from Using whatsapp for 4 hours. I have a created a group with lots of unknown contact numbers. But the fact is i have added the unknown people to the group with their consent only. Being blocked by too many people in a short period of time. Make sure you only communicate with people who want to receive messages from you.
Creating too many groups that contain users who do not list you in their address books. Make sure that you ask all of your WhatsApp contacts to add your current number to their address books.
Sending the same message to too many people. Use Broadcast Lists to send the same message to your contacts.

If you are thinking you are no longer the culprit, you can use some alternative methods to use Whatsapp again, without wait till banned duration. You can set "automatically adjust time and date" and automatic time are set to off. And adjust the time in future, for example set 1 or 2 days in advance. If the current time is Sunday 11 am, set the time as Tuesday 11 am. Afterwards you can use whatsapp.
